Romeo and Juliet Essay

Have you ever seen changes in relationships in between a decade and present time? In the book Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, during different time period’s relationships/dating practices change and leave the old dating stuff behind.

The common dating practicing of each time period will eventually change because over the course of many years people will adapt different ways to date. In this common book Romeo and Juliet, Juliet’s dad chose’s a spouse for her to marry (arranged marriage). But instead she sneaks around with a new guy named Romeo because they both are fondly in love. In act 1 scene 5, at Capulet’s party where they both are attending, they happily meet and fall deeply in love but to find out that they belong to enemy houses. “If I profane, my unworthiest hand this holy shrine, this gentle sin is this, my lips two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth this rough touch with a tender kiss.” I feel like this quote means Romeo is quickly falling in love with Juliet and is talking into giving her a kiss. This also shows how fast they fell in love bin a matter of hours.

While the two (Romeo and Juliet) are in love although they aren’t supposed to be together, Romeo still tries and makes his way to her wondrous palace. Here Romeo is risking his life because of their love. Nothing can get in their way of loving each other. “So thou wilt woo, but else not for the world, in truth fair Montague, I am to fond. This quote is showing how much they love each other. When

Juliet says the word “I am too fond” that means she is too much in love. It is obvious that the two need to be together.

Romeo and Juliet; knowing that they are not suppose to be with each other, when it kills them dearly not to see each other. When Romeo funds about Juliet’s “death” he looses it and buys potion from his fellow friend Friar Lawrence so he would kill himself to be with her, “Eyes look at you last! Arms, take your last embrace! lips, O you, the doors of breath, seal with a righteous kiss.  A dateless bargain to engrossing death!” this quote shows that Romeo would do anything to be with his Juliet. Not knowing that she went unconscious on purpose just to be with him.

The text doesn’t really relate to me in anyway because I have never been in love before. I can understand why people love one another, I think that the reader should know the relationship Romeo and Juliet had, and how they made risks to see one another. Romeo and Juliet is a very interesting and romantic love story with practices that no longer happen these days
